Youth ALIVE! Uses PagerDuty for Life-Saving Work to Prevent Community Violence

Since 1991, Youth ALIVE! has had a singular mission: to break the cycle of violence, heal trauma, and uplift a thriving community of leaders to save lives in Oakland, California and beyond. As a representative, diverse, and grassroots organization, the Youth ALIVE! team meets wounded people where they are without judgment to help them heal themselves and their communities.

To achieve its goals, Youth ALIVE! runs numerous prevention, intervention, healing, and advocacy programs operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They support those seriously injured from street violence, provide counseling services, teach high school students violence prevention techniques, and mentor at-promise youth. They also run the “Khadafy Washington Project” (KWP) which supports families and friends of homicide victims with emergency financial assistance, relocation services, and urgent help applying for victim compensation and planning funerals.
